How to Prepare
A little preparation helps your appointment go smoothly. Please review the checklist below before your visit.
- Stay well hydrated and eat beforehand to make the blood draw smoother.
- Avoid blood thinners, fish oil, and vitamin E for about a week, and skip alcohol for 24 hours.
- Avoid anti-inflammatory medicines for a few days so they do not interfere with the natural healing response.
- Arrive with clean skin and share any medications or blood conditions with your provider.
Recovery Timeline
Here is what to expect as you heal and your results settle in.
Day of treatment
Expect redness and mild swelling. If PRF was used as a natural filler, the treated area may feel firm at first.
First 24 to 48 hours
Avoid makeup, exercise, sun, and active skincare. Keep the area clean and let it heal undisturbed.
Days 3 to 7
Redness settles and the skin begins to look fresher. Any firmness from PRF filler softens.
Weeks 2 to 8
Because PRF releases growth factors slowly, collagen builds gradually for longer-lasting improvement than PRP.
Ongoing
