PRP

At Buford Care Medical Clinic, we offer Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, a natural and highly effective treatment that uses your body’s own healing power to improve skin texture, stimulate collagen, and restore a youthful glow. PRP is widely used in medical aesthetics for skin rejuvenation, hair restoration, and scar improvement.

PRP is created by drawing a small sample of your blood and placing it in a centrifuge that separates the platelet-rich layer. This concentrated plasma is rich in growth factors, which help repair tissue, boost collagen production, and support healthier, firmer skin. Because PRP comes from your own body, it is safe, biocompatible, and requires little to no downtime.

PRP is ideal for improving:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Acne scars
  • Dark under-eye circles
  • Overall skin texture and tone
  • Hair thinning and early-stage hair loss
  • Skin dullness and loss of elasticity

For skin rejuvenation, PRP can be applied with microneedling or injected directly into targeted areas for deeper correction. For hair restoration, PRP is injected into the scalp to stimulate dormant hair follicles and improve hair growth over time.

At Buford Care, all PRP treatments are performed by licensed medical professionals who follow advanced medical protocols to ensure maximum safety and effectiveness. Our goal is to help you achieve healthier, smoother, and naturally radiant skin using one of the most trusted regenerative therapies in aesthetics.

How Your Treatment Will Go

We keep every step simple and comfortable so you know what to expect from consultation to results.

01

Consultation & Blood Draw

Your provider reviews your goals, then draws a small sample of your blood — just like a routine lab test.

02

Processing the Plasma

The sample is spun in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the platelet-rich plasma from the rest of your blood.

03

Application

The PRP is applied through fine micro-injections or combined with microneedling into the targeted skin or scalp.

04

Review & Aftercare

We review simple aftercare. Because PRP uses your own blood, the risk of an allergic reaction is very low.

How to Prepare

A little preparation helps your appointment go smoothly. Please review the checklist below before your visit.

  • Stay well hydrated and eat a normal meal before your visit to make the blood draw easier.
  • Avoid blood-thinning medicines, fish oil, and vitamin E for about a week, and skip alcohol for 24 hours.
  • Avoid anti-inflammatory medicines such as ibuprofen for a few days, since they can blunt the healing response PRP relies on.
  • Arrive with clean skin and tell your provider about any blood disorders or medications you take.

Recovery Timeline

Here is what to expect as you heal and your results settle in.

Day of treatment

Expect redness, mild swelling, and a warm, tight feeling — similar to a light sunburn if PRP is combined with microneedling.

First 24 to 48 hours

Avoid makeup, strenuous exercise, sun, and harsh skincare. Use only a gentle cleanser and moisturizer.

Days 3 to 7

Redness fades and the skin may feel smoother. Any pinpoint marks from the injections resolve.

Weeks 2 to 6

Collagen and tissue repair ramp up, gradually improving tone, texture, and — for scalp PRP — hair density.

Ongoing

Best results come from a series of sessions spaced a few weeks apart, with periodic maintenance.

Questions about appointments

Have questions about scheduling or what to expect? Here are answers to common inquiries to help you feel fully prepared.

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) is created from your own blood and contains growth factors that stimulate healing, collagen production, and tissue regeneration. It’s commonly used for skin rejuvenation and hair restoration.

Results develop gradually. Most patients notice improvement within 4 to 6 weeks, with continued benefits over the next few months as collagen production increases.

Yes. PRP is very safe because it uses your own blood, which minimizes the risk of allergic reactions or complications when performed by trained medical professionals.
